The roots of the family business can be traced back to 1711 when the Rosenauer
family started up their trading house in Linz, the Upper-Austrian capital, to trade goods
within the Austrian monarchy along the Danube river.
With the rise of the region, trading increased and so did the importance of the
Rosenauer trading house. The family business imported and exported goods from one
part of the former Austrian empire to the other and even beyond its borders.
